Mulled wine is wine that’s been infused with spices and a touch of sweetness to create a rich, comforting drink.
It’s traditionally enjoyed across Europe in winter, and in Scandinavia it’s known as glögg - a more spice-forward style that inspired our recipe.
Yes, mulled wine is made from wine, so it contains alcohol.
When heated gently (not boiled), the alcohol remains, along with all the flavour.
It’s smooth, warming and gently spiced.
You still taste the wine, but it’s softened and rounded with subtle sweetness and depth. It’s the kind of drink you sip slowly and savour.
You want a wine that’s approachable and fruit-forward rather than overly complex.
We’ve already done that work for you, selecting wines that hold their structure and flavour once mulled.
Making it yourself takes time, ingredients and a bit of trial and error. You also end up wasting it if you only feel like a cup or two.
Ready-made mulled wine gives you:
It’s both easier and reliably good.
They can be fun, but they still require time, wine selection and balancing flavours.
If you want something ready to go, our pre-made mulled wine removes the guesswork entirely.
They are all mulled wine but in different languages. Glintwein, vin chaud, vin brule, grzane wino are more variations. They can all vary slightly in their recipes, but the concept is the same - wine infused with spices and sweetness and traditionally enjoyed warm in wintertime.
Traditionally during winter and around Christmas in Europe. It's very popular at German Christmas markets and in the town squares of Eastern Europe, in pubs in the UK and Ireland and at Christmas gatherings in Scandinavia.
In Australia, we are lucky enough to get two seasons to enjoy mulled wine - Christmas AND winter.
Here it's most popular for winter solstice gatherings, bonfire nights, Christmas in July celebrations, trips to the snow and of course at Christmas time.
Mulled wine isn’t always easy to find in Australia, especially outside of winter.
We make it simple.
Our mulled wines are available online all year-round and delivered straight to your door, so you can enjoy a proper, ready-to-drink mulled wine anytime of year.
No hunting around, no waiting for seasonal stock - just heat (or chill) and enjoy.
You'll want to heat the glogg until it is steaming. You can do the whole bottle in a pot (store in a thermos if you're not drinking it all at once or to BYO, or if it's just one cup then a microwave is by far the quickest and most convenient (roughly 50 seconds will do the trick!).
Try to avoid letting is simmer or boil as this will cook off the alcohol and eventually alter the flavours.
Being spiced wine, it i recommended that you consume the mulled wine within a few days of opening just like other wines. Store it out of the heat and sunlight.
We know that many of our customers avoid opening a 750ml bottle of wine because they only want a glass or two. That is why we also offer a 375ml bottle of both our red and white mulled wines. You can check it out here.
Our mulled wines are good unopened for at least 2 years. With time the flavours will get stronger.
Our mulled wines taste great whether you heat them, chill them or drink them as as they are.
We have many regular customers who drink our ready-to-drink mulled wine without heating, just like they would any other wine.
The red mulled wine pairs well with hearty, rich and spicy food if you want to pair it with a meal. The white is a great complement to a goat's cheese salad.
They also make great bases for cocktails, sangrias and spritzes. Head over to our blog page for our favourite recipes and pairings.

Not a thing! Our mulled wines are ready to drink in the bottle.
But if you want to get creative you certainly can! If you prefer your mulled wine on the sweeter side you can add more sugar. If you'd like it to be lighter and more like a Gluehwein, you could add some orange juice. If on the contrary you'd like even more of a kick out of it, we suggest adding a shot of Fireball whiskey!
Some like to add brandy and others like to serve it with a slice of orange - the choice is all yours!
We do not have a bricks and mortar store unfortunately and so cannot offer pick up. Local delivery is $9.

We aim to run our business with as small a footprint on our planet as possible. To that end we use only 100% Australian wine and all our bottles are manufactured here in Australia. With the exception of some of our spices, we use Australian-grown (some organic) raw ingredients and most of our packaging is reusable, recyclable and/or compostable. We provide discount incentives for bulk orders to minimise deliveries, and if you live locally come find us at an event and avoid the delivery altogether! This is only a starting point. Waste, transport, reuse and recycling are at the forefront of our minds in every decision we make.
